Clinical trials are very risky and the processes require precise processes, that’s the reasons clinical trials are very costly due to the research and development processes. The processes can last a long period and tracking and monitoring of the processes is critical to the trial's success. With improved clinical trials processes through technology the results have improved over the last few years.
When it comes to clinical trials the uncertainty and errors can be very costly to the researchers, and this directly affects the consumer whose costs are directly transferred to them through increased costs of the products resulting from the clinical trial products. Over the past few years we have seen improved products ranging from pharmaceutical drugs and services, this is directly as a result of improved technologies used by researcher nowadays.
Unfortunately, there are challenges affecting traditional technologies and they include the privacy concerns and the, inefficient clinical trials processes and the high costs of clinical trials due to third parties who have inflated the fees associated with clinical trials after substandard services. The environment is also facing challenges when it comes to collaborative efforts and lack of proper networks for sharing of information and ideas.
Lately new technologies have emerged, this is blockchain technology that promises to revolutionize the clinical trials processes through smart contracts that incentivize the global community through automatic rewards when they contribute to the clinical trials, the distributed ledger that transmits data and stores the information in immutable databases which is verified and validated allowing structural history that can easily be reviewed by researchers in a decentralized environment.

One of the projects planning on using blockchain technology to optimize clinical trials processes is ClinTex, the platform empowers clinical trials researchers through tools that improve the processes and allows records of clinical trials to be stored in immutable ledgers that have a historical hierarchy for easier review and monitoring. I’m excited because I understand that through cryptography, technologies available on the blockchain, clinical trials will be protected and only authorized individuals will be able to encrypt the information, this will ensure privacy of clinical data. This is the technology ClinTex project bring to the table. The storage of data is a priority when it comes to storage of improve of data is a priority when it comes to storage of important data that is costly and expensive, the use of distributed ledgers through the ClinTex platform will allow the data to be protected from fraudulent individuals and hackers. The data stored on the distributed ledgers is structured allowing easy traceability and accessibility of the history of the clinical trials.
Through collaborative efforts, ClinTex will allow the transparency of the processes to be a priority raising awareness for funding and talent searching operations, the records of ownership are a guarantee that no data will be stolen and re-used.

Through ClinTex I believe the cost of clinical trials will be minimized and the processes optimized and the results will be felt by the global community through reduced costs in drugs and services in the industry.
